Employee Training and Development

CBI ensures that all security officers have satisfactorily completed any state mandated training requirements, along with any specific client training program requirements.  Training of our officers is under our direction in coordination with our clients.

Training Philosophy

Our training philosophy is twofold.  First, we strive to insure that individuals are knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of their job tasks.  Secondly, we identify areas of performances that must be corrected. Immediate corrective action is taken where duties are not performed to the desired standard.  The employee will be retrained so that she/he can successfully demonstrate the ability to perform the duty prior to any assignment requiring the performance of the specific duty being tested. If the individual fails to properly perform a task while on duty, the individual will receive remedial instruction on the deficient performance and will be retested prior to resuming duties.

Classroom Training

This training is conducted prior to any personnel being assigned to any job position.  Our training program consists of interactive videos, workbooks and small group classroom instructions and is in accordance with state statutes.  Written tests are administered after each segment to determine the retention level of the material and learning objectives.  Successful completion is required before assignment to any client location. 

CBI Training Academy

CBI is one of very few security contractors in the nation that has a certified, proprietary training instructor.  CBI’s training academy has been designated as a vocational training academy by the Department of Workforce Services in the state of Utah.  The academy provides training for all CBI officers, proprietary security and contract security companies.

CBI’s officer training has been praised by the local police and the news media as a program that has saved lives.

We know that the better prepared an officer is the better he/she will respond when they are required to respond to emergency situations.

CBI’s commitment to training is evidenced by the company’s stringent requirements.  All CBI officers are required to complete 24 hours of initial training and 80 hours of annual on-going training.
